Borden Parish Church

Welcome to our church

The Parish of Ss Peter & Paul, Borden is firmly rooted in the Catholic tradition within the Church of England, but, as a village church, seeks to meet the spiritual needs of people of all denominations and none.

Our aim is to show by example and encouragement that God's love is available to all

5th February: 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Job 7: 1 – 4, 6 – 7, 1 Cor 9: 16 – 19, 22 – 23, Mar 1: 29 – 39

I often feel that the book of Job does not show God in a very favourable light.  For those who cannot remember the details, poor Job is the victim of what sounds like a rather crude game that might be played out by a couple of loutish men in the bar of a pub on a Friday night or by the Duke Brothers in the excellent 1983 film, Trading Places.
